BEAUCHAMP FINISHES NINTH AT MOSPORT; MOPAR-POWERED DODGE DRIVERS SWEEP PODIUM

Beauchamp Finishes Ninth at MosportRon Beauchamp Jr., aboard his Mopar Parts Dodge Challenger, finished ninth in the season opener for the NASCAR Canadian Tires Series at Mosport Speedway near Bowmansville, Ontario on Saturday, May 28, with Mopar-powered drivers taking the Top-six spots and nine of the Top-10. Scott Steckly scored the win over Pete Shepherd III and Don Thomson Jr.

Beauchamp qualified 10th to start on the outside of the fifth row in the 200-lap event. He ran among the Top-10 for most of the race, after making some significant changes to the car after practice and during a couple of the caution periods over the course of the event.

"We really thought our car should have finished higher," said Beauchamp. "It got a little wild near the end of the race with guys pushing, we came out of here with a Top-10 and now we'll make some adjustments and be better as the season moves on."

Brad Graham finished fourth with a Mopar powerplant in his car, with fellow Mopar-powered Dodge drivers DJ Kennington fifth, Jason Hathaway sixth, Jeff Lapcevich eighth, Pete Vanderwyst 11th, Jason White 15th, Dexter Stacey 16th, Dave Connelly 17th and Mark Dilley 18th.

Next up for Beauchamp and the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is the Grand Prix ICAR Mirabel at Circuit ICAR in Montreal, June 4-5.
