July 5, 2015. Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team were looking for a bounce back weekend at round number four of the NASCAR Pinty's Series this past weekend at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec. After struggling initially during practice Ranger and the team bounced back with a strong race effort and claimed a second place finish.

During the Saturday practice session the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge did not handle and feel the way Ranger would have liked. “The whole team worked really hard to improve the car,” said Ranger. During the second practice Ranger posted the quickest lap time of the session and claimed a starting position on the outside of the front row during qualifying.

During the Sunday race Ranger intended to employ a strategy that has worked well for him in the past three seasons when he’s scored back to back to back victories at the ICAR event. “I knew I wanted to save my tires and save the car” explained Ranger. “It worked for me last year,” he added.

As the race moved to the closing stages with about ten laps remaining Ranger began to make his move toward the front. Ranger pushed the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge hard in the closing laps cutting dramatically into the leaders margin but would come up just a little shy and settle for a second place result.

“I was saving everything a little bit,” said Ranger. “The leader was pretty far ahead of me, maybe if I go one lap or two earlier I have a chance but I’m really proud of the Mopar Motorsports team, after our problems in practice and a tough race last weekend we didn’t finish I’m happy to finish second, it’s good for the points” he stated.

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team return to action next weekend as the series begins it’s annual Western swing with a stop at Edmonton International Raceway on Saturday July 11th.
