August 30, 2015. Andrew Ranger set another track record in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge on the way to his sixth career pole at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) this past weekend. During round ten of the NASCAR Pinty's Series Ranger and the Mopar Motorsports team overcame a series of obstacles to record a hard fought sixth place finish.

As he’s done previously Ranger posted fast practice laps and then during qualifying set a new standard with a lap time of 1:22:807 seconds for an average speed of 106.904 MPH around the ten turn road course. “I was really happy with the lap, but it was only step one, we have a long race ahead and we need every point we can get in the championship,” said Ranger.

When the green flag waved for the 51 lap event Ranger led the way in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge for the first 15 laps of the race. Ranger relinquished the lead just prior to what was expected to be his first pit stop of the day. NASCAR officials however put the race under caution for an on track incident and ruled Ranger had not entered the pit lane in time “We don’t agree with the call but there’s nothing we can do about it,” said a frustrated Ranger. “It really set us back on our race strategy.

Undaunted Ranger charged as hard as he could to work the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge back to the front. Artfully he moved forward in the field working to put himself in contention until trouble would again surface. “I had to work hard to get back to the front and we cut down the right rear tire,” explained Ranger.

After making a stop for a new tire and then again stopping for service during the final caution period of the afternoon Ranger was looking for every position he could gain in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge to help in his championship fight. Ranger bulled his way forward in the closing laps to claim a sixth place finish.

It was a difficult afternoon for the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge but in spite of the numerous complications Ranger would gain bonus points for leading a lap and for leading the most laps during the race and close to within nine points of top spot in the overall standings.

“It was a very tough day,” said the driver afterwards. “We had a call go against us, the flat tire and we still managed to tighten up the points. I’m really proud of the whole Mopar Motorsports team for their hard work and we’ll go to the last race and do everything we can to try and win the championship,” he added.

The final race of season will take place Saturday September 19th at Kawartha Speedway.
